We support the following health education programs that help Pitt and Martin County children get a healthier start in life.
Health Education programs for Parents and Early Childhood Providers include:
- Child Care Health Consultants works with child care providers to address the health, safety, nutrition and physical activity requirements of operating a child care facility. Whether you are opening a new facility or a director of an established facility, Child Care Health Consultants can assist with required ITS SIDS, First Aid, CPR, and Medication Administration trainings, as well as provide you with ideas for healthy, cost effective snacks and fun physical activities; answer questions about the food program; develop an emergency preparedness plan; and so much more.
- Community Outreach offers parents and early childhood provider’s information and resources through newsletters, ChildLink’s Lending Library, local festivals and events.
- Nurse Family Partnership maternal health program introduces vulnerable first-time parents to caring maternal and child health nurses. This program allows nurses to deliver the support first-time moms need to have a healthy pregnancy, become knowledgeable and responsible parents, and provide their babies with the best possible start in life. The relationship between mother and nurse provides the foundation for strong families, and lives are forever changed – for the better.
