MPPFC welcomes new hires

The Martin-Pitt Partnership for Children is excited to welcome two new employees to its Greenville office.

Meron Berhane-Finch is now the Partnership’s Accounting Technician and oversees the financial and accounting aspects of the organization. Originally from northern Virginia, Berhane-Finch brings a decade of accounting experience to her role. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from George Mason University, as well as a Masters in Theology from Regent University. In her spare time, Berhane-Finch enjoys traveling, working out, reading, and spending time with her husband and one-year-old son.

“My desire has always been to work for an organization with a local community aspect,” said Berhane-Finch, “so I’m super excited to be part of the Martin-Pitt Partnership family.”

Previously the Regional Behavior Specialist at the Down East Partnership for Children in Rocky Mount, Chantale Sherman serves the Martin-Pitt Partnership for Children as the Regional Consumer Education Counselor for Martin and Pitt counties. A graduate of East Carolina University and former intern at the Martin-Pitt Partnership for Children, Sherman holds a Bachelor of Science in University Studies with a Thematic Core in Family Support Services and a minor in Child Development and Family Relations. With an extensive background in early childhood education, Sherman says she is honored to serve the community by helping parents understand the contributing factors of quality child care. In her position, she is responsible for educating parents so they can confidently assess their child care choices and select a setting that encourages children to expand their knowledge in a nurturing and responsive environment.

“Early Childhood Education sets the foundation to how a child will interpret the world and each child should have the opportunity to learn on their developmental level,” Sherman said.

“We are thrilled to welcome Meron and Chantale to the Partnership,” said Executive Director Lisa Mulligan, “and we know that they will do an exceptional job in assisting us with serving the families and children birth to five in Martin and Pitt counties.
