MPPFC Congratulates Our Summer Interns

“And so the adventure begins.”

Today, the Partnership said “See you later!” to our two Summer interns, Hannah and Kristin. Graduates of the Public Health program at East Carolina University with concentrations in Community Health, these two ladies have done an incredible job during their time with the Partnership.

Kristin, a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, single-handedly planned, organized, and oversaw the Partnership’s Soak Up the Sun event at Uptown Greenville’s Umbrella Market on June 21st. She created the event from scratch, including soliciting donations from Harris Teeter, Target, and Walmart to purchase sunscreens that were handed out during the event. Soak Up the Sun worked to educate parents and families on the importance of practicing sun safety, including applying sunscreen, wearing appropriate clothing, and staying hydrated.

In addition, Kristin created a resource guide for students looking to pursue a degree in early childhood education. The binder, located in the Resource Room at the Partnership, features information on North Carolina’s state schools, including the requirements for admission, program information, and more.

Kristin has been accepted to Carolinas College of Health Sciences through Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina to pursue her degree in nursing. Though we will miss her tremendously, we know she will make an incredible nurse and we wish her all the best!

Hannah, a native of Wilson, North Carolina, spent the Summer organizing multiple initiatives for the Partnership’s Community Outreach program, including the Little Lending Libraries and our 2nd Annual Touch A Truck event. Hannah’s outgoing nature and networking skills have produced the registration of several vehicles for Touch A Truck, as well as multiple sponsorships for our Little Lending Libraries — something we are endlessly grateful for!

Hannah’s next adventure is currently a work in progress, but we know that no matter what, she will be a stellar addition to any organization that is lucky enough to have her!
