Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

One of our most exciting initiatives at the Martin-Pitt Partnership for Children is our dedication to early literacy. From weekly story times to outreach events held within the community, our Early Literacy Coordinator goes above and beyond to ensure that children in our community are excited about the world of reading!

Every year, the Partnership joins children and organizations across the nation to celebrate National Read Across America Day, held annually on March 2 — which also happens to be the birthday of Dr. Seuss! As a group who doesn’t like to miss out on the fun, Angela Sawyer, Early Literacy Coordinator at the Martin-Pitt Partnership for Children, has organized a fun-filled day for children from age 2 to 102.

Join the Martin-Pitt Partnership for Children as we celebrate this joyous occasion with an event that promotes early literacy and a love of reading. Our One Fish, Two Fish Read to You Fish will include two story times and special guests, as well as games and door prizes. The story times will be at 10 a.m. and at 3:30 p.m. at the Partnership, 111B Eastbrook Dr. in Greenville. Be sure to wear your most Suessical attire, or dress as your favorite literacy character for a day full of fun!
